I'm Angélica López, a graphic designer with a multidisciplinary background in branding, illustration, and art direction. My work is characterized by my passion for bold colors, heart shapes, and inspiration drawn from Latin American folklore, as well as the colors, textures, and shapes found in nature.
I'm originally from Cali, Colombia, and I graduated from Jorge Tadeo Lozano University with a degree in graphic design and advertising. During my undergraduate studies, I was fortunate to receive a scholarship from the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service), which allowed me to conduct academic research on the bilateral influence between European art and Latin American colonial art at prestigious institutions, including Technische Universität Dresden, Fachhochschule Köln, and Offenbach University of Art and Design.
After completing my undergraduate studies, I worked as an art director for renowned advertising agencies in Colombia, such as MullenLowe, BBDO, and Accenture. In these roles, I gained valuable experience in various areas, including branding, graphic design, and packaging design.
In 2019, with more than five years of experience in the agency industry, I transitioned to working as a freelancer. I collaborated with local and national businesses, including BBC cervecería, Goyurt, and Bennett School-Cali. Additionally, I pursued a Master's degree in Strategic Planning for Advertising from the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
Throughout my career, my signature style has always incorporated illustration, combining vibrant colors with bold shapes. This unique style has attracted collaborations with renowned companies in Colombia, the USA, and Spain, including Zurich Insurance, Bavaria, Goyurt Colombia, Harinera del Valle, HotShapers, Adidas, ProColombia, Colsubsidio, and Alpina.
